This weekend marks 6 years of providing affordable acupuncture in our community.
Yerba Buena Acupuncture Collective first opened it's doors in April 2010 offering affordable acupuncture with the main mission to make this treatment more accessible. We've had a couple of name changes along the way, the most recent being to Tiny Needles, but our commitment to providing affordable healthcare has never changed.
Often, the people who need acupuncture treatment the most can’t afford it. Our low prices mean that you can benefit from more regular treatments. When we first opened we had a sliding scale for treatments that started at $20 and six years later we charge only $25 per treatment - amazing value for the individualized service and care that we provide.
By seeing more people at once in the community rooms (this week we have reached almost 55,000 treatments given!) we can reduce the cost considerably over the costs usually associated with acupuncture here in San Francisco. Even our one-on-one treatments which cost only $60 for existing patients are much lower than the usual $100+ treatment costs. We firmly believe that healthcare should be more accessible to all that need it. Additionally there is something quite magical about healing in a room with other humans and most people enjoy the more social environment and connection with others.
Acupuncture is a component of traditional Chinese Medicine which uses specific points on the body to affect its physiological processes. It has evolved over more than 5000 years into a comprehensive system of healing that restores and maintains health on many levels. Acupuncture is rapidly gaining popularity in the west as an increasing number of scientific studies show evidence of the effectiveness of this treatment in a variety of conditions.
Although acupuncture is more commonly known for its effectiveness in pain management, it can effectively treat many ailments. Acupuncture has been surprisingly successful in treating hormonal imbalances, skin diseases, digestive disorders and stress-related conditions.
If you are new to acupuncture or an old hand we look forward to treating you here at Tiny Needles.
